Hello,

Running multiple security programs with resident (on-access) scanning 
components
can cause problems, however, I do not know if that applies to the particular
combination of Avira AntiVir and PC Tools Spyware Doctor.  You could try
uninstalling one or both of them and see if this causes any change in the
behavior.
