How can I prevent automatic reboots on BSOD?  The &*^% thing immediately
reboots and I can't record the error details. No dump file is created.   I have
the option in Startup and Recovery for 'automatically reboot' cleared. Can I
check the registry to see if the value is actually set?  Is there some program
I can install that will catch the blue screen output and send it to a file?
It's gone in less than 1 second - no time to record it.

Now I suspect a hardware issue -- crashes occur at random times with no
particular user action or particular software running. Until about 3 weeks ago,
I can recall two crashes in the previous year. The PC doc hardware test, run
from CD overnight, did not turn up anything other than squawking about the
modem, that seems to be due to no phone line. It did not save a log file to
disk.

There must be _something_ I can set to stop the automatic reboots and some
reasonable way to fix this issue (I have a service contract good for another 6
months).
I would prefer not to reformat the disk... but I I can be certain of being able
to restore the current image I could try it. There's too many hours of
installs, software bought via download without CD, settings, fixing annoyances
etc to casually start over. I do have a spare HD, perhaps I could load the
standard IBM image on that and run it for a few weeks.

But there's got to be a better way!
