I don't think we're talking about the same thing. It sounds like you turned
off the automatic send, so that you usually get a little time before the
next send/receive session, do I understand that correctly? As you noted,
that doesn't always work because the next send/receive could be coming up
momentarily.

Read my post and track down the corresponding settings in Outlook 2007, and
you'll find something different and much better: A genuine minimum delay,
where the message sits in your outbox for the time you choose before Outlook
even thinks about sending it.

It's in the rules dialog in Outlook 2003, so that's the first place I'd look
in Outlook 2007.

Once the outgoing delay rule is set, you can turn the automatic sending back
on and still have a guaranteed grace period. I have Outlook set to do an
automatic send/receive every 10 minutes, with outgoing messages sent
immediately after a one minute delay. So even if an automatic send/receive
session happens to start right that moment, I have a minute to re-open the
message in the outbox.

I can't tell you how many times this has saved me from having to send those,
"Sorry, I forgot the attachment!" messages. :-)
