One good aspect is that when the intensity or color changes, the problem is probably the inverter has gone bad. bad, when this happens. This means that instead of a total screen failure, you can repair it. If handy with a good
philips screwdriver, you can replace it yourself.

What an awesomely useful message.  I have a T42 whose screen is starting
to go pink, and you've given me the courage to try and fix it myself.
