The backlight (CCFL) in your LCD is on its way out. Although it's possible to
replace the backlight itself (which has no FRU or part number since it's an
integral part of the LCD) you're better off swapping the whole LCD once it dies
which may be two hours or two years from now.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

George

Subject: [Thinkpad] #3: T21-750 display red on start

Hello guys,

I have three T21-Thinkpads with three different error-descriptions, this
one here is 3/3:

_Description:______________#3: T21-750 display red on start_______________

The problem here is nothing really bad. It's just that the display has a
"reddish" color upon start. This red fades away after like 5 secs and then
the display works fine. Is my display going to fail sometime? I have this
"red touch" for like 2 years already, the display is fine besides. Is it
necessary for me to change or repair anything? If so: Which FRU part
numbers are to change to get rid of this "red tint" ?

I hope you can help me out and thank you in advance.
Many greetings!
