The backlight (CCFL) in your LCD is on its way out. Although it's
possible to replace the backlight itself (which has no FRU or part
number since it's an integral part of the LCD) you're better off
swapping the whole LCD once it dies which may be two hours or two years
from now.

Thanks for this input. And I already got a solution.

I have the entire display of an old A22m here, whch is also 14.1"

Can I open that A22m-display, take the "integral parts" out and put them into
the T21-case to
replace the red-tintish one?

Is that so easy?

Or what can I do? My approach is to use the A22m-spare display which is fine.

Unless the display panels have the same part number, you cannot be sure a display swap will work. Often the signal cables are of the wrong length, or have the signals in a different order or pitch, or are otherwise incompatible. It's not like there's a standard digital inside the laptops.

I've replaced soldered parts in a laptop, and I would not attempt this.

You need a display from a T21, or perhaps from a T20 or T22, but you should get the correct part numbers from your HMM. Often the cheapest way to get such a display is from an otherwise broken machine on eBay, but that's my experience in the US.

Best,
Chris
