I concur... I've ghosted my machine and make another ghost everytime I make a few updates (about once/month). If I get a strange problem and can't figure it out, I just reinstall from the image.
I've haven't found any viruses on the machine in a bunch of years, knock on wood; but have had other strange behaviors and all were corrected when reinstalling the image. Cheers!
