How about, "DEL and ESC are the two most frequently used NON-LETTER, 
NORMAL-SIZED keys on a keyboard"?

That would seem to make sense. Obviously it's not practical to make the "E" key 
bigger, and the others everyone keeps mentioning are already large.

Poorly worded, yes; but it sounds like they're trying to improve things. The 
peripatetic DEL key is indeed a big problem when switching keyboards (and has 
kept me from buying some machines).
