More importantly, after a liquid spill that machine should not b turned on until you have verified that ALL the liquid is drained and dried. ----- Original Message ----- From: "RayBay" <[email protected]>

Remove the keyboard by removing the screws from the bottom, and be careful
with the ribbon caable. then turn it upside down tilted downward a little
to the left side in a warm environment with a little warm dry air flow...
give it at least three days (five if possible) to allow it to dry
internally..

Usually that works, and you have no more troubles..

If not, replace it. I often buy Thinkpad keyboards on eBay for as low as
$17, and no more for brand new than $45.

Good luck. Keyboards are usually not a problem if you give them enough time
and air to dry out completely..

Hello all,

I spilt water on my keyboard and thought things were fine. Alas, they are
not. Several things have raised their nasty heads after a nasty spill...
they are as follows:

1) My PgDn key is not working now, is that indicative of needing a new key
board or is there something I can try before going there?;

2) Before this, I could scroll pages by sliding my finger on the touch pad, now that is not working, although my touch pad is working for other actions.

Any thoughts or recommendations on these items or do you need more info for
input?

TIA and thank you all for your insights and input on this site.

Warmest ...
