Hello all.. sorry to report that I now believe my motherboard is
incapacitated to the degree that it should be replaced.
Thank each and every one of you for your input and advice on how to try
and recover my machine it does appear that I Am fighting that "up stream
battle of the sockeye salmon" at this point.
I have to change out the keyboard as well and have found them to be in
the $30 +/- range which is fine.
My new questions are as follows:
1) Should I wait a bit longer to find out if the mobo is really
salvageable or not?
2) My machine number is 6465-63U, any recommendations on upgrades to
potentially consider as opposed to my current Intel Core Duo 7500 2.2
GHz (part numbers if you know them, thanks)?
3) I have 2g memory installed, any real value of installing 2g more?
4) Any way to make the new installation keyboard "spill resistant"? ;-)
4) Are there any places/stores/internet sites which anyone can suggest I
visit to get a replacement mobo and associated parts?
Anything that I may have forgotten or need to consider further, please
chime in.
I do so bad want a T500, yet now is not the time... not the time.
