I have a 60 gig available that works. Tests good in DFT. Does not cause the
error code. It is a pull, and used.

Most drives will work in the docking station,
But only 11 drives, mostly by Hitachi, will work beyond 40 GB in the T43 and
T43p.
There are long disserations on the problem that you can find with a Gurgle
search.
The drives you need are no longer made, and are difficult to find online...
as smart people squirreled them away when the problem was revealed.
I have not tried the newest drives from Fujitsu or Samsung, but I have tried
most others.
You get the error. Some will not work with the error code. Others will
work fine, but you have to tolerate the error on upon boot.
The surprising thing to me was that Lenovo didn't care at all, and made no
attempt to add additional drives, or make hardware changes available that
would correct the problem.

Can you explain it to a rather old guy in some easy terms? Is there an
adapter to use with Docking Station II for a 2.5" IDE PATA hard drive?
I would like to expand my T43 drive capacity with an extra hard drive in
the Docking Station II. I already have a 160 GB capacity drive. If
this combination is not going to work, please suggest another hard
drive.
