I went looking on ebay for a good standard battery for My T43. I've
purchased before and been disappointed. I was wondering if a secret existed
for knowing what to look for in the ad. Perhaps wording that someone
selling a genuine battery would place in the ad to attract people. I was
hoping to get 2-3 hours on the charge if I bought new and maybe 1:30 from a
working pull. Is this a realistic expectation from a battery.

I just don't want to buy a battery that holds a 3 hour charge for a month
and then suddenly won't run the machine more than 30 minutes.
If reliability and a worry-free transaction are your main concerns, buy a new battery from a trusted vendor. I've been very happy with batteries from Kahlon.com. The performance, price, and service have all been top notch from them. They have good prices on RAM too.

Keep checking Lenovo's web site too. They sometimes have sales on batteries, and some day they'll go on clearance.
