Hi.
I am not sure if I have asked this on here, but I am looking for a lightweight
distro to run on a ThinkPad 600. It is a 300Mhz with 160MB of RAM. It
originally had Mandriva 2008 on it but it was just too slow.
I would like a Ubuntu based distro, purely because of the software repositories
and hardware support.
I have tried Xubuntu and it was too slow. I have tried Fluxbuntu and it was
rubbish. I have tried WattOS, but it was too slow. Im now downloading
CrunchBang to see how that goes. These are all running of a live CD, so a
proper install would have run better.
I tried Damn Small Linux Not earlier today, but am having problems getting my
Buffalo wireless card working under ndiswrapper.
So, can anyone recommend a good lightweight distro with Firefox and Flash
support that will run comfortably on this hardware.
I have a number of wireless options:
A Buffalo WLI-CB-G54A PCMCIA card (which works with restricted drivers in
Ubuntu)An Edimax EW-7108P PCMCIA card.A Pluscom/ZyDas ZD1211B USB stickAn Asus
WL-167G USB stick.
Please can anyone recommend a good distro.
