Sounds like a disk problem manifesting itself. If you can get it
rebooted don't try the file copy again but do make sure to back up your
important files from the drive, then try running a disk diagnostic
program to see what is wrong.

lights blinking, nothing happened (screen black, no fan, etc.).
A few hours later, I tried rebooting and I got to the POST and fingerprint
reader screen, but no further (hitting ESC to enter PW by keyboard didn't do

Yet later the machine started normally. I then tried to copy my file by USB
and it froze again.
Any suggestions (other than not copying a file via USB)?
