For those of us who only need these items occasionally over the years and do
not work with quantities sufficient to distinguish statistically the good
from the bad, how do we know who are the reputable dealers on eBay? I have
friends who are delighted with their great deals from eBay, but the few I
have tried have all been rip-offs, like the motherboard I tried to buy which
was advertised with a phony picture as one model but turned out to be
something else. The vendor responded, "tough luck;" that since I had won
the bid (the only bid) I HAD to pay or he would ruin me on eBay and sue. I
complained to eBay and offered them copies of the complete exchange of
emails. eBay refused to get involved until I had paid him the money, then,
they said, I could have access to their system to TRY to recover my money.
That was my last attempt to deal on eBay. I have been trying to find a
replacement adapter for a T43p without much luck. Thanks for any guidance
you can offer on finding the honest vendors with good products.
