also ensure you have latest drivers & XP WPA updates... WPA2 was not
natively supported at the time of the release of the T43 and XP, and
introduced through service packs/patches/driver updates.

You answered your own question; it is likely an access connections
issue. Uninstall it or update it.

Subject: [Thinkpad] WXPPro wireless connection problem
A T43 can connect normally to open unencrypted access points but cannot
connect to a home AT&T gateway with WPA2. After trouble shooting the
gateway with AT&T tech rep, there are no connection issues with a
T43p or a
Dell 620. The recalcitrant T43 sees with the access point and its
SSID and
tries to connect but fails. We have deleted the profile and
recreated it to
verify the password. No luck. Can anyone suggest how to trouble
shoot this
issue or fix it? Also, what is the correct procedure for disabling or
removing IBM Access Connections and leaving the function to Windows?
Thanks
for any help.
