Hello,

Acer's support site provides this link for the modem's device drivers:

<http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/Modem/Modem_Agere_2.1.87_Vistax86x64.zip?acerid=633639738460698656&Step1=Notebook&Step2=Aspire&Step3=Aspire 4730Z&OS=V10&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=PA_7>

The full URL with the argument seems to be required in order to download the drivers. Although the driver package mentions Vista in the filename, it may
work with Microsoft Windows XP as well.

Failing that, the generic driver from Agere(LSI) may work with the winmodem.

My wife's Acer Aspire 4730Z lost her OS and she's
had WXP reinstalled but there's no winmodem, which
she needs since ADSL has failed where we are in
Bangkok so must temporarily use dial-in. How do
we find a modem package to install? Googling
doesn't seem to show much.

I might need to know this someday myself for my
TP so any advise or vectors to readings will be
much appreciated. Or if someone has a driver
package which wl work pls advise privately if
you could send.
tks jeffrey race
