Hi I tried changing it to PIO in the IDE controller in Control Panel/System. It made no difference.
I had XP running and installed it no problems using the original CDROM drive. I cant see why this is stalling. I removed the drivers in safe mode, the rebooted in back into safe mode and it detected the drive and installed it, but rebooting into normal mode resulted in the same freeze again.
