Some time ago I mended the DC cable of one of my two adapters. It was
the usual wear of the exterior conductor sheet, just after the plug
(the plug that goes in the laptop). I bought a plug that “fitted the
specs”, according to the seller from the hardware store. However, after
1 year, the plug doesn’t hold very well, and since I don’t keep my
battery in, I would get frequent power cuts.

So now I have one good adapter sitting for nothing on a shelf. Does
anyone have an original X31 charger plug (I actually striped down to the
metal this original plug on another charger about the same age, and I
now have 1 very compact plug that hold terrific (and I would like my
second charger to behave the same, and stop cursing the fact that I
threw away the first original plug).

Thanks,

Adrian, France
