Hello all, earlier this year I bought a T400 to replace an older thinkpad
and it had been working flawlessly.

Lately however I noticed a black speck near the center of the screen. At
first I thought it was some dirty spot or something but the speck still
remained after wiping the screen clean. Is this what people call a 'bad
pixel'? It seems a bit disheartening when the machine has seen less than a
year of use. Can anything be done about it? The fact that the speck is near
the center makes it a nuisance -- if it is near one of the corners I am
inclined to pretend that nothing happens. I assume this will not be accepted
as a reason for a replacement of the screen, right?

Thanks.

Bernard Chan
