She has a plugin keyboard she likes.

Laptop is the goal here, for portability.

We could buy a ginormous 18" screen job, but it'll weigh a ton (and won't be a
Thinkpad). I'm inclined to worry about whether it's a ThinkPad or not for
reliability reasons - I'm 400 miles away, and while I can do (most) software
maintenance remotely, hardware is a bit trickier J

But given those constraints, I'm willing to entertain alternatives. HP?

Get her the biggest, most tactile keyboard you can, with the largest screen
with adjustable contrast that you can find. Don't worry about whether it is a
Thinkpad or not...

But the Edge would be perfect if she was 25 years younger.

What does the assembled multitude think of these? I'm looking at replacing my
mother's aging G40. She's 82, mostly does email and web, tiny bits of Word.

I'd buy her a T510 in a heartbeat, but the Edge is also attractive.

Any G2?
