My friend's T40 crashed and I took the machine to IBM but it is non-repairable. He wants to access his files (he lives in another city) and I've put his HDD in my drive tray on my T43 where it appears as Drive L which I've set to share in WXP. But I can't figure out how to make it as a shared folder on his (remote) computer so he can transfer the files by accessing my external IP address. I tried NATting my local T43's local IP address to Port 9000 on my external IP address but that doesn't seem to let him in. Please tell me what to do or what to read. Googling "remote file access" brings up a lot of proprietary solutions which don't seem to be right for our requirement tks for all help jeffrey race
