Even better, I checked mine.  There is a fuse in there.  The front probe 
unscrews and there's the fuse.  It might be blown.


I have a different Thinkpad DC adapter, an IBM 72-watt (P/N 22P7091) that stopped working a while ago. After reading your post I was hoping that a blown fuse was the problem. I unscrewed the housing that holds the probe in place. All I found inside was a spring that the metal probe sits on top of.

Does the fuse in yours go between the spring and the probe?
