The machine is operational (I am composing this posting on it) but I do not have 100MB wired Ethernet and the Dock II will not work reliably. I am currently using an IBM 10/100 EtherJet PCCard and external USB 2.0 Hub as a work around. Although this is a 6+ year old machine, almost all of the common HW failure points have been replaced over the past three years including HD, Keyboard, Fan and LCD Screen. This ThinkPad is too nice to scrap or part-out! I am looking for a new or refurbished IBM 27K9909 or 27K9912 Systemboard to repair my T42p.
