What you're looking at is an usual set of symptoms for GPU detachment which is
an extremely common problem on T4x units.

Three fixes:

a) Replace the system board

b) Re-flow the board yourself

c) Replace the board with an Intel based board from R51.

Hello George:

Is this also characteristic of T30s? I have had two T30s
(and still use one daily) that develop scattered horizontal
hash/pixel-thickness lines as they warm up that eventually
affect the entire screen. I can usually make them disappear
by applying pressure or torque to the case in specific areas,
with reappearance as soon as I release the force I am
exerting.

They have both worked fine on docking stations. I have
considered attempting a repair by inspecting the circuits and
re-flowing solder where I suspect cold or broken solder
joints.

Your thoughts?
