You can install a SXGA+ (1400x1050) or even UXGA (1600x1200) in that T60, both 
of these would belong to IPS/AFFS FlexView range of panels and offer one of the 
best experiences that one could get from a laptop LCD.

It's a clean swap, just drop the new panel in and you're good to go.

That being said, the screen *must* be a genuine Lenovo-issued one from T6x 
range, otherwise the machine will not boot due to a BIOS whitelist.

As for the external monitor, T60 will support most resolutions one could think 
of.

Thanks for the information i have found a refurb t60 at 15" but its  
native resolution is  1024 x 768 ( XGA ) 
 
Does the gfx chipset allow a greater resolution? 
If it does will it look a bit poor since its not its native setting?
