What you're describing sounds like a hardware issue to me. Is the screen reddish/pinkish on initial boot?
I'd return it anyway and hope for the best... When it goes black, I tried the control alt delete and the computer did not change. I then put the screen down and put it to sleep and when I put the screen back up the display showed the task manager. So, I'm starting to wonder if I have a bad screen, or something else? IN any event I will probably have to send it back, but I want to ensure there's nothing software that could be causing this.
