The Samsung 80GB drive in my T4x (I call it that 'cause the label says it's a T40 but the S/N says it's a T42, or vice versa, I can never remember!) died. ISTR some discussion of what drives would/wouldn't work in the T4x machines. Alternatively, does anyone on the list have a 60-80GB EIDE drive they want to sell me cheap? I had 3 or 4 on the shelf, but all turned out to be bad. And a friend gave me one from a Gateway laptop (circa 2000) and it was too thick to even fit in the machine - I hadn't realized there was an older generation of drives that was thicker! This is my browsing-while-watching-TV machine, so it doesn't hold any real data, so I'm not worried about needing more space. .phsiii _______________________________________________ Thinkpad mailing list [email protected] http://stderr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/thinkpad
