Ok so we are all in agreement that any will do. Now i just have to try and find a 5400 hard drive rather than a hot running 7200. I am only using it for internet/office work and so have no need for performance.

To their credit, the only thinkpad I know of which balked at some disks was the older t43, which only complained; it was still usable. The same holds for SSDs, from what I've been able to see.
