Michael, If you can change a watch battery, and follow directions, you can handle this job.
Download the Hardware Maintenance Manual and look at the steps to remove that part. If that's scary, have someone else do it. If you go for it, use a big clean table, and have separate spaces for the screws you remove in each step.
