So I have a DP-to-HDMI cable I got on Amazon. Hooked it up to my X220 and a Sony TV. Picture is great playing a DVD (from Windows Media Player), but sound is only coming out of the computer. Windows 7, 64bit.
I looked under Control Panel > Sound and saw two devices, "Speakers" and something related to DisplayPort (don't have it hooked up now, maybe it said a Sony TV). But no matter what I did, I couldn't get the sound to come out of the DP/HDMI. I see now there's a "set default" choice but I don't really want to change the DP to the default output, do I? I will if I have to. How would I tell the computer to pump the sound out the DisplayPort instead?
