Thanks, I tried VLC (already installed, current version) and while it
gives a lot of options for audio output, none of them put the sound
out the DP. Changing DP to default in Windows did do it though.

Thanks, I didn't need to do that, just changed default to DP and sound
started coming out of the TV (was already connected).

Good point, I originaly assumed (from the name) that DisplayPort was
for video but looked it up before buying. Didn't think to confirm this
cable though. I could see a market for video-only if one wanted to use
an HDMI project or similar. The cable (<$9 from Amazon) did work in
the end.

W7 64bit here too. Worked with the change to make DP default, didn't
seem to work any other way (once it was working I didn't dig further,
but I did try every audio output type in VLC).
