fwiw, I'll only be using it for storage, and it'll be attached via
USB. I'm also not terribly experienced with formatting, partitioning,
etc. -- so I'm hoping to make sure to know exactly what I'll need to
do before I purchase anything.

(I don't really get the point of 4k sectors on a 2TB drive -- seems
like an unnecessary complication -- seems to make more sense for 2TB+)
