If you're using XP, you might want to read this thread:

BTW, if you're using XP, the restore set is 6CDs + Rescue& Recovery CD +
optional Supplemental R&R CD.

Make sure that you've got all of this lined up before proceeding.

Cheers,

George

Subject: [Thinkpad] initialize new drive

I have a ThinkPad T60 and would like to replace the
drive with a new 500Gig drive.
What is the best way to do this?
I have the 5 cd disks to restore the laptop to factory condition.
Using these disks, will that initialize the new drive?
I also cloned the old c:\ partition with Acronis.
Would it be better to restore the old c:\ drive to the
new drive and would that initilize the new drive?
