Hello,

Did you purchase a unit with a 3G (or 4G?) modem? If not, do you plan to
install the SSD in the MiniPCIe/mSATA slot used for it?

I would be very interested in your opinion of the keyboard after it has
been in use for a while.

Hello,

The laptop shipped a day earlier than estimated and it moved the delivery up a day. I thought I might arrive early, as it was in Kentucky last Sunday after a speedy trip through Alaska. I did not realize that customs clearance happens in Kentucky, and this took two days. I was reading some horror stories of shipments stuck there for weeks, but it cleared yesterday, and arrived this morning.

I was concerned about choosing a laptop without physically looking at one, but so far I like it. I got a FHD 1920x1080 screen and the text is not too small. The screen is bright and not glossy. I have not typed on the keyboard much yet, but it has a good feel so far. I did not get the backlighted keyboard. It does have a Thinklight. I got a 9 cell battery and it looks similar to the extended battery I use on the T61.

I got a new computer bag for the laptop. I had a Lowepro bag for my T61, but Lowepro is more photography bags now. I decided to get a messenger style bag because I carry around a lot of stuff, and this bag seemed better than the briefcase style bag. I also like that I can use it with a camera or collapse the camera pouch. There are no dedicated lens compartments so I can use it strictly for computer stuff. The laptop fits nicely even with the 9 cell battery.

Next comes the fun of upgrading the memory, putting in a SSD, installing my Apps, and installing Linux.
