Ah, you are right: according to the notes I just found I did

 - an install,

 - install SP2,

 - install SP4,

 - install the rollup.

Failure to do that meant that the patches wern't right.  If that has
changed it would be good to know.  I know of several companies
still using Win2K for machine control, off the net.

    No, you can't.  MS screwed it up.  You need to install SP1, then SP3,
    then the rollup.   The rollup isn't a service pack.
