Hello,

No problems noted with the battery after a few months of use.

I do not think that SATA to PATA adapter would work inside of a ThinkPad
since it looks like it would raise or lower the height of the installed
hard disk drive by a half-inch or so. At the very least, you would
likely end up have to cut a hole in your palm rest (or the drive cage,
if it goes the other direction) in order to fit a SATA drive into the
ThinkPad.

My T43p came with an IBM 802.11a/b/g MiniPCI card, limited to 45Mbp/s
connections. The Broadcom card is an 802.11n card, and capable of up
to 300Mbp/s in speed.

Regards,

Aryeh Goretsky

As the owner of two semi-retired T43's, I was very interested in your posting.

And is the battery OK?
I've had mixed experiences with "foreign" batteries.

I've seen, but never tried, much cheaper SATA to PATA laptop adaptors
on eBay,eg item #150895127805 for $5 or so.
Are they unlikely to work properly?

Doesn't the T43 usually come with WiFi installed? (Mine do.)

Incidentally, I've been very happy with Thinkpads I've bought from
<http://www.itsco.de/>, a German company that gives very honest
descriptions of their 2nd hand machines.
(I have no connection with this firm.)
