In my experience foreign batteries are OK except for:
- They typically use lower-capacity cells (2200mAh instead of 2600mAh)
so your third party 9-cell battery ends up being 6600mAh compared to
Lenovo's 7800mAh. That's a 20% difference, so is not negligible.
- They sometimes lie about their capacity, advertising the 7800mAh spec
whereas they really use the cheaper cells and hence only get 6600mAh.
So if you're OK with only having 6600mAh, they're a great bargain.
If OTOH you care about maximum autonomy, better stay away since you
can't be sure you'll get what you want.
