I just downloaded the latest thrift source, and followed the README to get all
the prerequisites....
I'm running on ubuntu-8.10..
It apparently requires the python dev package (It was complaining about missing
the header file 'Python.h')...
So, installing the ubuntu package 'python2.5-dev' solved the problem.
The README, and perhaps also the wiki page, should be updated to mention this
dependency....
