Hi, I am a core member of Linux Club of Peking University, also a member of NeuroDebian team, currently working at the Multisensory Lab at Peking University as a research assistant.
I am trying to help establish a mirror site for NeuroDebian ( neuro.debian.net). It hosts almost all of the useful software (including non-free ones) used in cognitive sciences, including neuroscience, psychology, biology etc. All those software are very popular among scientists in the field of neuroscience and experimental psychology, providing good support for fMRI (brain imaging) and computer vision. However, there are no mirror sites readily accessible for researchers in China. There are several mirror sites now (http://neuro.debian .net/mirrors_status.html#chap-mirrors-stats), but no server in Asia, though the number of the users cannot be neglected (http://neuro.debian .net/_files/nd-worldmap-201106_15dpi.png). The required disk space is less than 45 GB, and is maintained rsync with cron jobs. Your mirror site as the official Debian mirror has been very stable and a main source for most researchers in China for years, which would guarantee that your site could be the best candidate. Could you please consider with you team to support NeuroDebian?
