I am getting the same error when trying to connect to either MSN or Hotmail. However, if I restart Thunderbird and try again, usually I can get in. Occasionally it takes 2 or 3 restarts. Gmail, however, works the 1st time, everytime. I have also found that if I try to check the Properties of the Hotmail extension when I can't get logged in, Thunderbird will freeze and I have to kill it with Task Manager. Also, this has been going on before I installed XP SP3
