I think I've seen mails about this with Mac systems before. The *.zip 
file you've downloaded contains a *.xpi file, which itself is a renamed 
zip file containing the .js and .rdf files. Somehow the Mac system 
unzips both the zip and the xpi files in one go. I understand that you 
need to unzip the downloaded file in a console window (command line type 
environment) to just unzip the container file without unzipping the xpi. 
Perhaps someone more familiar with Mac systems can be more detailed.
