The posts about logging into Hotmail and dealing with a screen that popped up before continuing to your inbox gave me clue. To fix the negative vibes error you need to set your Hotmail account to go directly to the mailbox rather than to the "Today Page". To do this hit "Options/More Options/Customize Your Mail/Today Page Settings". Hit the toggle that reads ,"Skip the Today page and take me straight to my inbox" and then hit the "Save" button.
