Hi, I'd been getting the 'negative vibes' message from hotmail extension, and couldn't figure it out for a long time. I had one hotmail account that would work with the Hotmail extension, and two that would not. I spent a while comparing settings and trying some of the other answers I'd seen in forums without any success. Now I think I figured out what my problem was.
When you go to Windows Live via the website, there's this annoying little message that comes up that says something like "you spoke, hotmail listened". There's a button to go past the message to your inbox, and a check box that says not to show the message again. As soon as I went through that manually, and checked the box that said never to show me this annoying message again, the hotmail extensions in Tbird started working for those accounts. Mine seems to be working.
