Today I first got negative vibes trying to download to Thunderbird from Hotmail. After reading the postings in the newest discussions here I changed my pop setting to the 'new' site and did not get negative vibes, but still no download. Both the DAV and Old Hotmail choices elicit engative vibes as of today. yesterday DAV still worked.
I have 2 gmail, 2 yahoo and 1 hotmail account using Thunderbird with the webmai extensionl.Using Thunderbird I sent a brief test e mail from one g mail account to all 5 boxes and then pressed the get mail button. the 2 gmail and 2 yahoo accounts downloaded, but hotmail did not. When I looked with Firefox the test e mail was in all 5 inboxes. I marked the hotmail test email as 'unread' and still could not download to thunderbird. I did two more test e mails to the hotmail box and determined that using 'get mail' in thunderbird makes hotmail on the web convert e mails in the inbox there to 'read' status so that it was not reported by the Firefox webmail extension as new mail, but the test I sent without trying to download it to thunderbird was found by the Firefox extension. When I marked two emails as 'unread' on the web site Thunderbird would download only 1, but when I went back to look at the website both were in 'read' status.
