Unfortunately, doing that will only give you access to In Box, not other
boxes.

Keep Playing around, and you should get the Webmail Working in
Thunderbird with Hotmail, with all foldrers...

Works Perfect.

I Installed Opera, as a Backup Browser to my Firefox, but it also has
Email, Built In.

I Set Up Opera Mail the settings for POP, as listed by previous post.

Set Opera Mail to Leave Hotmail POP on the Server.

I Could Now Access my Hotmail Inbox only, in Opera. As A Backup to
Thunderbird IMAP Hotmail that is temporarily set wrong, as is the
Website for Hotmail. I still have to browse on Firefox to Hotmail
website a dozen times a day to check my Spam Folder.

I Then Went into Thunderbird, and, as suggested by another poster,
1st
Went to Thunderbird Settings and Webmail-Hotmail Add On (Not Webmail),
and changed the settings to use the New Site=Live.

I Closed Thunderbird.

Restarted, It Did not work at that that point, but finally worked after:-
Going Into MSN and Signing into Live.
Immediately, there was a Popup Advertising all the features.
There was a Tick/check Box to Chose NOT to Show again, on signing into Live.
Until Now, during the couple of days, I had been unable to access
Hotmail, via Hotmal Webmail IMAP with all folders, I had resisted
checking that Box, as I was too busy to read the page, so I thought I
would read it next time I went to the website, so left it unchecked.
However, it appears that Me Not Unchecking that Check Mark on the Live
Website, was Blocking IMAP Mail Receive Send.

Once I Had Checked that POPUP Page not to show again, on entering Live
Website, Looked at In Box Online, signed Out, Restarted Thunderbird a
couple of times and waited a few minutes, It Suddenly Worked again.

Unfortunately, for me, I got Double Thousands of emails, as Kaspersky
labelled them all as SPAM label, instead of Probably Mail.

Works Perfect, Now.

Worked near perfect for years, then, on 2nd Sept Stopped, but now
working pefectly, again, with all Folders.

Using Vista Home Premium
Thunderbird 2
Webmail Hotmail 1.2.23
Webmail 1.33
Set Live New Site
I Get a Couple of Hundred emails a Day.
I Am Hotmail.com
I Live In UK

Good Luck...

Sorry about Typos :-)
