Hi all,

I have been a hotmail user for years with Outlook or OE and such as
for many people I am now facing the problem of the disparition of the
DAV protocol.
Up to know I have been using only DAV and IMAP for my professional
inbox, so I have no experience with POP3.

If I understood correctly, thanks to the webmail-hotmail extension, it
is possible to download the content of the hotmail folders and to sort
the emails using filters. In my case, I am not interested in this
feature (I do have plenty of hotmail folders, but without real POP
synchronization, using the web interface in unfortunately still the
best solution).

My question is therefore: now that hotmail is accessible via POP3 for
all hotmail users, are there any other webmail-hotmail features that
would justify the use of this extension, rather than directly
connecting to pop3.live.com?

I do not want to delete the emails from the server as soon as I
download them, but only when I decide to delete them (therefore I set
up "leave messages on server ... until I delete them").
With the POP protocol, if I delete a message in Thunderbird, it will
remain on the server, right?
Woud it be different if I use webmail-hotmail?

Thanks in advance for your answers!
