Mark as "worked around/not really resolved".

Right after posting I went to the hotmail/live.com web server & moved
all my mail in the subfolder to the main folder, then deleted the
subfolder.  The replier below (thanks!) said that's what I would need
to do, anyway.  And yes, while I assume I still can't get msgs. from
any hotmail subfolders, those msgs. once they were in the main hotmail
folder downloaded w/o any prob. & today keeping those same settings
(not creating a new subfolder on the web server) continues to allow
download of all msgs.   (off topic:  and the filters I have within
shredder do route to shredder's own subfolders I made here.)
