This posting summarizes the findings from a posting I made earlier under the subject " GMail and S/MIME".
If an email message includes a line containing two (2) or more consecutive periods, and nothing else, the WebMail-GMail extension will delete one of the periods from such a line when it downloads the mail (i.e, when emulating a POP service). This occurs regardless of whether the message has a digital signature. It does not seem to occur with WebMail-HotMail.
