Gil, thanks for summarizing the research provided in the thread you initiated and for confirming that it had nothing to do with your initial concerns about digital signatures.
Just a by the way - our friend the Webmail Author is not (as far as know) the originator of the GMail add-on but has, I think the term is, "been left holding the baby" and has been doing a pretty good job so far. That may explain the discrepancy between the GMail add-on and the greater consistency of the other add-ons.
